On McHappy Day, our community showed up for families in a big way.

Throughout communities across Canada, people came together to support families with seriously ill or injured children — simply by ordering a meal, rounding up their order, purchasing McHappy Day items, making a donation, volunteering their time, or sharing why this day matters.

And every action made a difference.

At Ronald McDonald House Toronto, we see every day what it means for families to stay close during a child’s medical journey. We see the impact of having a place to rest between hospital visits. A warm meal after a long day. A moment to regroup. Space for siblings to continue learning, playing, and simply being together.

Support from McHappy Day helps make those moments possible — at Ronald McDonald House Toronto and in our seven Ronald McDonald House Family Rooms inside hospitals across the GTA and in Sudbury.

Together, our community helped raise an incredible $1.2 million for families at Ronald McDonald House Toronto and our seven Ronald McDonald House Family Rooms across the GTA and in Sudbury. Those funds help ensure families can stay close to their child’s care — today and throughout the year.

It’s a powerful reflection of what can happen when a community comes together around a shared purpose.

Across Canada, communities helped raise more than $10.8 million in support of Ronald McDonald House and other local children’s charities, including more than $7.63 million for Ronald McDonald House across Canada. Together, communities, McDonald’s restaurants, Owner/Operators, Crew, volunteers, families, and supporters turned a single day into lasting impact for families.

“McHappy Day is always an incredibly powerful reminder of what’s possible when communities come together to support families during some of the hardest moments of their lives,” said Louise Smith, CEO, Ronald McDonald House Toronto. “Spending time in restaurants this year and seeing the energy, care, and creativity from McDonald’s Owner/Operators, Crew, volunteers, and supporters was truly inspiring. Every act of support — whether it was a meal purchased, a Round Up donation, or simply helping spread the word — helps families stay close to their child’s care, not just on McHappy Day, but every day of the year. We are deeply grateful to everyone who made this year’s McHappy Day so meaningful for the families we serve.”

We’re especially grateful to McDonald’s Canada, our Founding & Forever Partner, and to the local Owner/Operators and Crew who brought so much energy, care, and heart to this year’s McHappy Day.

We’re also incredibly thankful to the families who shared their stories and experiences so openly and courageously. Your voices helped others understand why staying close matters so deeply during a child’s treatment journey.

What your McHappy Day support makes possible

Every visit to McDonald’s on McHappy Day helps families stay close to their child during treatment — providing meals, rest, and space to stay together.

In 2025, that support made it possible for:

4,724 families supported

Essential care and support provided through Ronald McDonald House Toronto and seven in-hospital Ronald McDonald House Family Rooms.

31,126 nights of comfort

A place for families to rest, regroup, and stay close — at the House and in Family Rooms across the GTA and in Sudbury.

28,970 meals prepared

Fresh, nourishing meals so caregivers can focus on their child, not what’s for dinner.

483,446 kilometres travelled from 457 communities

Families come from across Ontario and beyond to access specialized care — often travelling long distances to reach the treatment their child needs.

From early morning coffees and team lunches to Round Ups, social shares, BINGO games, family stories, and restaurant visits — every gesture helped build something bigger than a fundraiser. Together, you helped families feel supported, cared for, and less alone.

McHappy Day is a powerful reminder that small actions, taken together, can have an extraordinary impact.

To everyone who took part: thank you for being part of our big, beautiful McHappy Day community.

Because of you, more families can stay close to care — and to each other — when it matters most.
