Ronald McDonald House Toronto Family Rooms provide families with a place to rest and recharge inside the hospital — just steps from where their child is receiving care.

For families navigating a child’s illness, days at the hospital can feel long and overwhelming. Our Ronald McDonald House Family Rooms offer a quiet, non-clinical space to step away, have a meal, take a shower, do laundry, or simply rest — all just moments from their child’s bedside.

Research shows that when families are supported in these ways, it contributes to their overall well-being and helps them remain strong for their child.

We currently operate seven Ronald McDonald House Family Rooms across five hospitals in the Greater Toronto Area and in Sudbury. Each space is thoughtfully designed to meet the unique needs of the families and units it serves, and is supported by dedicated, compassionate volunteers.

Ronald McDonald House Family Rooms are a critical part of family-centred care — meeting families where treatment happens, and ensuring they have the support they need, right when they need it most.
