Most people would never notice it.
A meal already prepared.
A room quietly reset.
A familiar… face at the front desk in our Ronald McDonald House Family Rooms and at our House.
But if it wasn’t there — families would feel it immediately.
At Ronald McDonald House Toronto, this is what volunteers make possible every day.
Not just support.
A system of care that helps families stay close — together.

The World Cup excitement is buzzing at the House!
Thanks to canadasoccer, our families were treated… to a special preview of the incredible energy and excitement of watching the Canadian Men’s National Soccer Team compete at their home games at BMO Field.
Moments like this are only possible because of the generosity and support of our community. As you can see from Ivan’s excitement, programming and special experiences beyond hospital walls give families the chance to pause, connect, and enjoy something truly special together during an otherwise challenging time.
Thank you for helping us create memories that mean so much. Lots more fwc26toronto and fifaworldcup excitement to come — stay tuned!

As we look ahead to McHappy Day on May 6, we’re reminded that staying together can change everything. …💛
When the Canonigo family arrived at Ronald McDonald House Toronto, they weren’t thinking beyond the immediate need for a place to stay while their daughter was first diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma. What they found was a safe space, compassion, and community. Together, as a family.
“My kids would have been separated from school, from each other, and from me,” she says. “Here, we can stay together. We feel safe, supported, and included.”
On May 6, you can help make that kind of support possible for families like the Canonigos. On McHappy Day, a portion of proceeds from every mcdonaldscanada order all day adds up — whether you’re ordering your favourite items, rounding up your order, or purchasing McHappy Day socks. Every action helps support families staying at Ronald McDonald House Toronto through an unimaginable time.
Learn more about McHappy Day on May 6 and read the impact you can have on families like Canonigo’s here with the link in bio.

At Ronald McDonald House Toronto, caring for the whole family is essential.
When a child is …navigating complex medical care, the journey affects everyone — especially siblings. Far from home and surrounded by unfamiliar routines, they’re balancing emotions, school, and daily life while supporting their sibling.
Kriszella, whose daughter Kursten is receiving treatment for Ewing sarcoma, shares what that separation feels like:
“She would say, ‘I miss my brothers. I want to be with them.’ And being able to stay together… means so much.”
That’s why creating space for normalcy matters. From making new friends, attending school, and joining programs like woodworking, to simply spending time together — these moments help siblings feel supported, connected, and cared for.
Family stays and grows stronger together.

Today on #NationalCaregiverDay, we recognize the strength it takes to navigate a child’s medical journey. …Caregivers show up every day — not only for their child, but for their entire family.
From long days at the hospital to moments of rest in our seven Ronald McDonald House Family Rooms or at the House, caregivers are the steady presence their families rely on during uncertain times. The responsibility they carry is immense, and at Ronald McDonald House Toronto, we’re here to help ease that weight — supporting everyday needs like meals, rest, and a place to regroup, so families can stay close to care and to each other.
For the de Haas family, mother Kyra often stayed bedside with their daughter Navy while she was receiving treatment for a congenital heart defect. She remembers the night she joined her husband, Steven, at the House while Navy was still in the ICU.
“It was rough emotionally, but it was also such a gift to have a full night of rest — to breathe and gather the strength we needed for her recovery.”
Because when caregivers are supported, families stay stronger.
