Our first School Fair of the year at the Ronald McDonald House Toronto School was filled with proud moments …as students shared their learning with parents and caregivers.
From Kindergarten innovators showcasing diverse and inclusive dolls and favourite building tools, to students in Grades 1–3 designing wheelchair-accessible playgrounds, there was something exciting to discover at every table.
Students in Grades 4–8 brought their novel studies to life through detailed builds inspired by A Series of Unfortunate Events, while all students explored wellness through lessons on sleep routines and online safety.
Swipe through to take a tour of January’s School Fair. 💙

When a child is diagnosed with cancer, everything changes overnight for the whole family.
When …five-year-old Hendrix’s cancer returned, his mom Jenna packed a bag and rushed from Cobourg back to Toronto for treatment at SickKids.
Days were spent at the hospital, sometimes it was for in-patient care, sometimes it was for daily cancer treatments.
Through all of this, Ronald McDonald House Toronto became home.
A warm meal after a 12-hour day.
A bed instead of a chair.
Laundry done. Coffee poured.
A place to sit together and just… breathe.
“It wasn’t just a place to sleep,” Jenna says.
“It was safety. It was dignity. It was where we could be together.”
When a child is fighting cancer, parents and grandparents aren’t visitors, they’re also caregivers, advocates, comfort, home.
And they need care, too.
This #WorldCancerDay, we’re honouring every family walking this road and making sure they never have to walk it alone.
Family stays.

Recently, we welcomed visitors from the Canada 911 Ride Foundation and Ontario Association of Paramedic …Chiefs to Ronald McDonald House Toronto for a tour of the House. Like so many who walk through our doors for the first time, they were deeply moved by what they experienced — families staying together during the most uncertain moments of their lives, while a child receives treatment for a serious illness or injury.
That visit led to a powerful act of care: the donation of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) to our House.
At Ronald McDonald House Toronto, safety, preparedness, and compassion go hand in hand. An AED is a peace of mind for families, staff, and volunteers, and another way we work together with community partners to create a place of comfort, protection, and support.
We are especially grateful to donors who take the time to learn about our mission, see it in action, and choose to stand alongside families when they need it most. Collaboration like this strengthens the circle of care around children and families and reminds us that when people come together with shared purpose, the impact is real.
Thank you to the canadas_911_ontario and the oapcmedia for spending time with us, for your generosity, and for supporting the health and safety of the families who call Ronald McDonald House Toronto home during some of their hardest days.

When a child is seriously ill, families do what they’ve always done — they show up, again and again.
…
At Ronald McDonald House Toronto, that belief guides everything we do. We provide essential services that strengthen families and promote healing when children need healthcare.
Family is essential to healing. Care often means travelling far from home. And no family should navigate this alone. Through warm meals, supportive programs, and a place to rest, we help families focus on what matters most: being together. 💛
